Spomasz Zamość Spółka Akcyjna is a Polish company founded on the basis of a pre-war metallurgical plant producing agricultural equipment. We consider 1950 to be the year of the plant’s establishment, when the Metal Works were founded under the name ZAMET. Production of drive chains, known as Galla chains, began at that time.

In 1973, the Zamet company became part of the Spomasz group and in 1981 adopted the name ‘Spomasz’ Dairy Industry Pumps and Fittings Factory in Zamość. Production began of milk pumps – the GA pump – and cream pumps – the GU pump.
In 1996, the company was privatised and bought from the State Treasury by its employees. The company adopted the name Spomasz Zamość S.A.

1996 was the year in which Spomasz Zamość S.A. began manufacturing acid-resistant steel tanks. Initially, these were storage tanks; in subsequent years, process tanks, tank heating or cooling systems, and tanks with agitators were added.
In 1997, intensive work began on expanding the range of centrifugal pumps produced. New types of pumps for food-grade liquids, meeting the requirements for machinery in the food industry, were introduced into production.

Today:
The company’s share capital amounts to PLN 1,000,220.
The company operates from two sites with a combined area of over 30,000 m², employing 138 staff, including 8 engineers and designers, whose commitment enables the company to meet the demands placed upon it.
Spomasz Zamość S.A. is currently in the process of investing in the implementation of CNC machines for manufacturing processes – cutting, bending, machining and welding. These investments are being carried out with the support of the Regional Operational Programme for the Lubelskie Voivodeship for the years 2007–2013.

Funding for the production of centrifugal pumps

We are pleased to announce that
Under Priority Axis I: Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Regional Operational Programme for the Lubelskie Voivodeship for 2007–2013, Spomasz Zamość S.A. has received funding for the implementation of the project:

"Based on currently manufactured pumps, the development and implementation into production of innovative explosion-proof pumps meeting the requirements of the European Union’s ATEX Directive 64/9/EC", as specified in the application for funding for project implementation No. 02.11-WND-RPLU.01.03.00-06-098/11

As part of the grant received, two new types of centrifugal pumps were launched and put into production:

The GH25Ex centrifugal pump, designed for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres, comprising a monoblock unit integrated with the motor and featuring a seal protection system against working fluid leakage and overheating.

The GU30Ex centrifugal pump, designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, comprising a monoblock unit integrated with the motor and featuring a seal protection system against working fluid leakage and overheating.

As part of the modernisation of our products, the following has been carried out:

Modernisation of GH and GU pumps involving adaptation of the pumps for operation under negative pressure on the inlet side
modernisation of GH and GU pumps involving the installation of a heating jacket on the pump.
