Application

The HM80 homogeniser is designed to standardise oil emulsions in order to reduce the size of the fat or paraffin phase particles and to prepare a homogeneous mixture or homogeneous solution. When the phases are combined, the water molecules are better combined and the fat and water molecules are intensified.
The homogeniser is suitable for most products such as creams and ointments, lotions, sauces and flavour emulsions.

Two designs - a sub-tank version - designation HM80P and an InLine version - designation HM80.

General characteristics

The homogeniser is a rotor-stator type product and can be used, depending on the version, as a sub-tank homogeniser for homogenising the contents in the tank, e.g. for emulsion production and after the addition of an emulsifier. A second application is the foot-mounted homogeniser with the option of in-line assembly. In the in-line version, the homogeniser is, together with the motor, a closed monolithic structure supported on 4 adjustable ball-and-socket feet.

The rotor and stator are two mating pairs closely spaced. The orientation of the rotor and stator teeth, as well as the pre-rotor used, allow the fluid to flow through the unit and shear the flowing fluid. The rotational speed of approx. 3000 rpm enables intensive shearing and mixing at the same time. Rotor mounted on an extended shaft of the motor driving the homogeniser. External body mounted with cap screws to the homogeniser body. An o-ring seal is fitted between the external body and the pump body, so that it can be washed out during the CIP washing process.

The shaft is sealed by a double seal with the possibility of supplying rinse water at a specific temperature that can also reheat the homogeniser body if required. The outer body and the homogeniser body are made of materials of considerable design specially shaped in the machining process, which contributes to the durability and reliability of the homogeniser.

Connection ferrules with Rd male thread according to DIN 11851 - DN80 suction and DN40 discharge.

The pump is manufactured from stainless steel 1.4404 for parts in contact with the product and 1.4301 for other parts such as the casing and base.

The capacity of the pump feeding the homogenised medium should be appropriately selected to obtain a good working effect.
