Pump GU-70 - Pumps for food liquids
General information
Pump capacity 68m³/h with a head of 45mH2Oand a 15.0kW motor.
The GU-70 pump is a GU-30 series pump designed with the current requirements of food industry applications in mind.
The pumps in this series are made entirely of acid-resistant steel, the pump casing and all parts are made of 1.4404 (316L) steel, internal surface roughness ≤0.8µm, washable casing gasket and all components inside the casing.
Thickness of materials used min 5.0mm.

Application
The GU-70 pump is designed for the transfer of non-concentrated or concentrated food liquids with a dry matter content of up to 50% or other foodstuffs with similar properties at temperatures up to 95°C.
Due to its capacity value and relatively low head, the pump can be used as a transfer pump for emptying tanks and for transferring large quantities of medium over short distances. The pump can be used in installations where food safety is a very important consideration.
The pump may be used in, among other things:
- transport of liquid food products with viscosity up to 1000 cP,
- dairy (fresh and pasteurised milk, whey, ice cream mixes),
- Fruit and vegetable processing (non-clarified and clarified juices, juices with fibres, fruit drinks, vegetable drinks, wines, liqueurs),
- Distilling (distillery mash, spirits),
- Pharmaceutics,
- pumping of basic utilities in the food industry (water, cold or hot purified water,
- cleaning fluids for CIP systems,
- other liquids.

General characteristics
The GU-70 type pump is a centrifugal pump and together with the motor is a closed monolithic structure resting on 4 spherical legs, adjustable to allow for pump leveling.
Pump impeller - open, mounted on the extended shaft of the motor driving the pump. External pump casing mounted with cap screws to the pump casing. An o-ring seal is fitted between the outer casing and the pump casing so that it can be washed out during the CIP cleaning process.
Outer casing and pump casing made of min. 5.0 mm thick, specially formed in a forming process, which contributes to the durability and reliability of the pump.
Connection ferrules with Rd male threads in accordance with DIN 11851.
Pump manufactured in AISI 316 stainless steel (1.4404) for the parts coming into contact with the product and AISI 304 (EN 1.4301) for the other parts such as casing and base.
Shaft seals: double face mechanical seal with flushing fluid (water) or single face seal; seal material sets selected to suit the medium to be pumped.
Seal kits available as standard:
Silicon carbide/silicon carbide,
Impregnated carbon/ceramic.
Fluoroelastomer (VITON)
Nitrile (NBR)
Other seal material sets on request.
Advantages, certifications
The following advantages of the pump are worth mentioning: easy operation, low energy consumption, hygiene, easy cleaning of parts, convertibility (no foundation required).
The pumps have the necessary approvals for use in the food industry. The pumps are provided with a declaration of conformity and the CE safety mark.
